Past
In 1992  our Chairman, Somboon
Suprasert—or Auntie Boon, as many have
come to know her—was working on
HIV/AIDS research in Thailand. Her
internationally-esteemed research led her
to the many children that were orphaned
by the HIV pandemic and left to be cared
for by their grandmothers. Her heart went
out to the children left behind as well as the
tired grandmothers who devote all of their
energy to raising their grandchildren. It
was this impact that brought her to  create
the Grandma Cares Partnership.
Programme.
Present
In May 2008 Grandma Cares became an
independent and recognized Thai
foundation. Currently, Grandma Cares is
sponsoring more than 70 families, but
upwards of 2,500 families still need
assistance. This is why we need your help.
The cost of providing annual care to a child
in need is only $400 a year for children
under 15 years of age, and $600 for children
15 years and older.
Future
As we gather new partners to help our initiative, we aim to grow in the
number of participants in our program, as well as expand the impact it has
on the surrounding area, and throughout all of  Northern Thailand. We
hope to develop a fresh, and unique fund raising technique that currently
involves selling products made by the Padaeng Village Women's Weaving
Group. The funds received from these sales will support both the children of
Grandma Cares and the village of Padaeng. This will be the beginning of our
line of
Grandma Cares Products. If you would like to know more about the
Padaeng group, please visit

regular, healthy meals.
